Dr. Zargar explained the drought condition in Iran and added; geographically speaking, Iran is located in arid and semi arid-area in which the precipitation is very limited, Ministry of Energy reports.

Speaking about the historical dimensions of water in Iran and valuable heritage of water, said; Iran has a bright history in the fields of irrigation, drainage , water supply and Ganat.

Dr. Zargar indicated the activities of the International Center for Ganat which is located in Tehran and acts under the supervision of UNESCO.

At the end he concluded:due to the shortage of water in the country, Iran allocates huge amounts of money to water projects. more than 4 billion dollars goes to water section annually of which 1 million dollars is allocated for irrigation and drainage,
