The opening ceremony of Shirtappe Sarakhs 's Diversion Gate Hosted Iranian deputy minister for water and waste water and Turkmen deputy Minster, ministry of energy reports.

In the ceremony Iranian deputy minister called the project as beneficial for both nations and said the matter is derived from decisions and political wills of Iranian and Turkmen people which it was approved by both government in the early Iranian president visit to Turkmenistan.

Zargar said: water is an important factor for which in early of 21st century water will be the cause of many wars but we, in Iran, believe that water brings amity where the idea is being flourished from our Islamic beliefs.

Iranian deputy minister also continued: Diversion dam of shirtappe will be the sign of fraternity and friendship between the two states.

Manager of Khorasan regional water Co.' , Mr. Razavi,told reporters that the operational phase is to be done by a joint committee and added, the project will become ready at the end of summer 2008.
