Energy Management is Imperative for High Consumers of Electricity
 
The electricity industry is now offering training to energy managers and so far this year [started March 21, 2011] some 16,000 man-hours of training has been organized for energy managers of industrial companies, organizations and government departments.
 
 
 

The managing director of Iran’s Energy Productivity Organization said under Article 24 of the Consumption Reformation Law all consumers which use more than 1 MW of electricity are required to have an energy manager.
Saeed Mohazzab-Torabi further said there are more than 2,000 such users across the country.
He added the electricity industry is now offering training to energy managers and so far this year [started March 21, 2011] some 16,000 man-hours of training has been organized for energy managers of industrial companies, organizations and government departments.
Mohazzab-Torabi said in the second half of the year up to 50 one-day workshops will be held for energy managers of industries and government departments. That amounts to an additional 40,000 man-hours.
“By yearend at least 25% of high consumers will have received training,” he said.
In conclusion, he said in cooperation with the Industries Ministry and provincial electricity distribution companies these courses will be offered in the provinces.
