ISLAMABAD: As the new Punjab government grapples with the problems passed on to it by the previous government, anti PML-N forces in Punjab have put up hurdles to the new government's effort to provide relief to the public.

Model Town Society, which is being headed by a blue-eyed boy of the Chaudhrys, has increased the electricity tariff from Rs 4.25/unit to Rs21.40/unit, a staggering 400% hike.

Model Town is the hometown and stronghold of the Sharifs. Such tactics are only aimed at maligning the public image of the Sharif family.

Through an open letter the residents of Model Town Society have made an appeal to Mian Nawaz Sharif, Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Dost Muhammad Khosa to sack the president of Model Town Society and order a probe into mishandling of the society's affairs. They have also appealed to the authorities to announce relief measures for them.
