The Global Energy Award is awarded by the UN to countries and researchers who demonstrate efficiency in energy consumption and support water, earth and air resources.
Following a call up by the UN Information Centre, the Global Energy Award will be awarded to plans which help the efficient use of energy, water, earth and air resources.
The call up reads: “During the global energy competition, various countries' achievement will be put on display for millions of people. The environmental award will be awarded to plans which use various water, energy, earth and air resources and renewable energies, efficiently.” In addition, the Global Energy Award will be awarded in four categories consisting of soil, fire, water and air. The cash prize for each category is 10,000 Euros.
The call up also said that every year the awards are presented during a televised banquet on one of the continents. All the presented plans will be listed on the World of Energy website.
