Parallel to water projects which require tremendous efforts and huge spending, measures should be taken to optimize water consumption, Senior Vice Energy Minister said. | |

Ali Zabihi further said each day new projects are coming on stream across the nation and such achievements will go down in history.
He added inauguration of the first phase of a project to channel water from the Dez subsidiaries to Qomrud has helped provide clean drinking water to the residents of Qom. “For the first time, residents of the holy city had access to clean tap water during the holy fasting month of Ramadan.”
Zabihi went on to say that the country’s water resources are small and dwindling, and water projects require tremendous efforts and huge spending. “Parallel to these projects, measures should be taken to manage and optimize water consumption in the country.”
He added last year which was designated [by the Supreme Leader] as year of Extra Work, Extra Diligence saw efforts to transfer water to the holy city of Qom come to fruition. “Extraordinary measures were taken in this regard.”
He thanked all those who contributed to the project and said major projects which tap into the innovation and creativity of Iranian experts should be taught at universities and workshops as a token of appreciation for such efforts.
In conclusion, the deputy energy minister said extraction of water from various sources is difficult, calling for the promotion of the culture of proper consumption.
