Iranian Energy minister, Parviz Fattah, met Tunisian Industries and Energy Minister, Afif Shelbi here on Monday in the capital city of Tehran ,Ministry of Energy reports.
Iranian Energy Minister , Parviz Fattah, stressed on the expansion of multilateral cooperation between the two countries and said Iran and Tunisia by having close cooperation can transfer their capabilities in the field of energy.
He noted: In the field of renewable energies Iran and Tunisia are gifted and possess high capacity and added in the current year Iran has entered 70 MW of electricity to the cycle through wind and another 500 MW for extraction is under construction.
Fattah referred to locally manufactured gas and thermal turbines in Iran and said Iran's capacity and capability in electrical industry has set to self-sufficiency and Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to cooperate in this field.
Affif Shelbi also emphasized on boosting up the cooperation between the two countries and added the political relation stands at a good level ,the ties in the field of electricity and renewable energies are not though.
'The economic exchange between Iran and Tunisia has reached to 130million dlrs which is not satisfactory' Shelbi said.
'Electricity generation in Tunisia is3000MW', according to Tunisian Minister quoted by Ministry of Energy of Iran.
He also went on to say that within 10 years 300MW will be added to the generation capacity per annum.
Tunisian electricity grid connection through Mediterranean to the state of Italy is on the way which during few years' later Mediterranean littoral states will be connected to Europe's electricity network
